David Trachsel awarded a doctoral degree
Our Counsel David Trachsel received his doctoral degree (PhD) with the distinction summa cum laude from the Faculty of Law at the University of Fribourg on 23 February 2026. We warmly congratulate Dr. iur. David Trachsel on this outstanding academic achievement.
He wrote his doctoral thesis in the field of bankruptcy and insolvency related litigation (title in German: “Die Prozessführung des Gläubigers bei den Anschluss-, negativen Kollokations- und Widerspruchsklagen – Eine Untersuchung der originären Berechtigung des Gläubigers zur Führung von Prozessen über fremde Rechtspositionen in der Spezial- und Generalexekution“).
His doctoral thesis examines various issues at the intersection between civil procedural law and debt enforcement and bankruptcy law. At its core is the question of the civil procedural classification of certain enforcement law actions with reflexive effects on substantive law – a highly topical and practice-relevant subject at the intersection of two central areas of law.
His doctoral thesis will soon be published in the renowned series “Schriften zum Schweizerischen Zivilprozessrecht (ZPR)” (Publications on Swiss Civil Procedural Law) by DIKE Verlag.
